So Adrienne are walking back to a Vietnamese food restaurant where she forgot her notebook when this tall glass of Russian water walks his foldable bike up to us on the corner of Cote Des Nieges and Cote Sainte Catherine.
"Salut."
"Salut."
"I'm working on this art project right now, I'm from New York and I've hitchhiked all the way here. Would you guys be interested in helping me out?"
It's Adrienne's turn first and she holds that frame up to her face and puts on those glasses.
I'm forced to walk away, so I can't listen and prepare my answer.
My turn:
"What is the ultimate truth?"
"Um... I believe that the ultimate truth can only be found in contradictions. You know, it's like yin and yang."
"I don't think I understand... so if you had to sum it up in one word... balance?"
"Sure, yeah. Balance."
I wanted to use two: 'balance' and 'conflict.' I don't think one word could ever be the truth.
1 wisecracks:
Oh but conflict is about balance. Or, more specifically, the struggle to achieve balance.
